My new exhibit, HALF-LIGHT, includes photographs taken within the last three years in the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson Valley. Most of the photographs included in HALF-LIGHT have been taken either at dawn or dusk, in muted light, at that time the French call "entre chien et loup," between dog and wolf, tame and wild. As in my Fall 2013 exhibition, Lucid Dreams, at the Longyear Gallery in Margaretville, these images continue to "blur the line between photography and painting," focusing on the effects of natural light on landscapes of mountains, streams, waterfalls, and ponds in all seasons, often in color but at times in black and white and sepia. I continue to seek to evoke the mystery and awe and renewal granted to us by the natural world.
